Our History

Abhinav Samaj is a non-profit organization registered with the Government of NCT of Delhi under the Trust Act. It was founded on April 7, 2010, by retired government officers, businesspeople, and members from affluent families who came together to serve society based on their personalized experiences. Their focus has been on rehabilitating and caring for insolvent elderly people. To achieve this, they opened Jai Ma Durga Old-Age Home at C-147, Uday Vihar, Nilothi Extn., Chander Vihar, New Delhi-110041, where they provide free shelter, food, medical facilities, and other basic needs for up to 25 elderly people. But currently we have closed this old age home and are running ‘Gandhi Old Age Home at Kadabagere Cross, Magadi Main Road, Near State Bank of India, Bangalore-91 (Karnataka).

Apart from caring for elderly people, Abhinav Samaj also provides shelter and education to destitute children. The organization has recognized the crisis affecting both rich and poor families alike in the current age of micro-families, where many elderly and children are left without any support. The governing body of Abhinav Samaj decided to work towards the welfare and rehabilitation of destitute elderly people after witnessing such incidents first-hand.

In addition to their regular activities, Abhinav Samaj also arranges free medical camps every month for different diseases, such as heart diseases, dental problems, eye problems, and psychiatric issues, for underprivileged people. During the COVID-19 crisis, the organization's volunteers have been working tirelessly to help affected families by provided them with meals. medicine, oxygen cylinders, PPE kits, nebulizers, oximeters, and other necessities, free of cost. They have also adopted 100 families who have lost their earning members due to COVID-19, providing them with food packets, grocery kits, financial assistance, and counseling services.
