Training

Abhinav Samaj has been actively conducting training and certificate courses for college students in the field of elderly care, hospice care, and geriatric care with the objective of creating a compassionate, skilled, and socially responsible youth force dedicated to serving senior citizens and terminally ill patients.

The training program is designed to provide students with both theoretical knowledge and practical exposure in understanding the physical, emotional, psychological, and social needs of elderly persons. Through this initiative, students are sensitized towards the challenges faced by senior citizens, especially those who are neglected, destitute, suffering from chronic illnesses, or living without family support.

The certificate course covers important aspects such as:
• Basics of elderly care and geriatric support
• Personal hygiene and daily care assistance for senior citizens
• Understanding age-related diseases and health conditions
• Emotional counselling and companionship for the elderly
• Hospice and palliative care for terminally ill patients
• Nutrition, medication management, and mobility support
• Communication skills and compassionate caregiving
• Emergency response and basic first aid
• Ethical values, dignity, and respect towards senior citizens
Students are also provided practical training through visits to old age homes, hospitals, care centres, and community outreach programs conducted by the organization. This hands-on experience helps them develop empathy, patience, responsibility, and real-life caregiving skills.

The program not only enhances the employability and social awareness of students but also contributes towards building a caring society where the elderly are treated with dignity, love, and respect. Upon successful completion of the training, participants are awarded certificates recognizing their contribution and knowledge in elderly and hospice care services.

Through this initiative, Abhinav Samaj aims to promote professional caregiving skills among youth while addressing the growing need for trained caregivers in the field of elderly and geriatric care in India.
